Fatigue is one of the earliest symptoms that men who are suffering from hypothyroidism will exhibit. This is the general feeling of sluggishness which may also present as slow movement and weakness. Men who are suffering from hypothyroidism may experience sexual dysfunction in terms of delayed ejaculation, erectile dysfunction premature ejaculation, and decreased libido. Sexual dysfunction can be caused by severe anxiety which eventually leads to depression. Sexual dysfunction is a treatable condition and men should not be ashamed or afraid to tell a doctor about such experiences because it might actually lead to the diagnosis and early treatment of an underlying disease such as hypothyroidism.
- Memory loss and inability to concentrate
Most men who suffer from hypothyroidism often complain of memory loss and inability to concentrate. However, these symptoms can also be signs of aging and this is the main reason why most male patients do not seek medical attention when they start experiencing these minor symptoms.
Some men who suffer from hypothyroidism may also experience intolerance to cold as the levels of thyroid hormone continue to decrease. In case the decreased ability to deal with cold is a chronic or severe condition, it is necessary to seek medical help.
